Thanks to my cousin Tim, we ended up at The Breslin last week for what turned into a pre-Thanksgiving gorgefest. It is a new place in the lobby of the Ace hotel run by the Spotted Pig chefs. The menu is full of pork in many, many forms. There is onion and bone marrow soup. It was an amazing meal. We started with the terrine platter which from left to right was, head cheese, rabbit, pork, and guinea.(Sorry for the horrible pictures, I had only my fancy phone.)
Tim and I got the belly and mashed potatoes for 2. It could serve 4 and was the biggest slab of pork belly I’ve ever seen. This was one of those dishes that proved sometimes food is the best thing on the planet to consume.
